Treasure of Khan by Clive Cussler

My review

rating: 3 of 5 starsOverall it was a good read, though Clive’s prose did leave me a little baffled at times (for one, I found that the book, at least in the beginning, contained way too many metaphors for my liking). I also found [...]

Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

My review

rating: 5 of 5 starsThis was a great read. I’d easily consider it one of the best Sci-Fi books that I’ve read. It became a little morally preachy near the end, but the majority of the book was an enthralling read.

I’d definitely [...]

Chronicles of The Black Company by Glen Cook

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
Completely enjoyed this trilogy. About a quarter of the way into it, I found that I was having trouble putting it down. A great sign of a great book.
Raw, visceral and compelling characters. I can’t wait to read the [...]

Grave Surprise by Charlaine Harris

My review

rating: 3 of 5 starsWas a decent read, though I did not find the characters as well developed as in her other books. Harper seems to have a lot less spunk and passion than Sookie, maybe this has to do with her back story [...]

Courtesy of Williams-Sonoma, this soup makes a great spring soup.  I’ve always been a fan of lemon/chicken soup, and this surely does not disappoint.  A lovely fiesta of flavour, this soup will have you enjoying every last drop in your bowl.

I normally enjoy a Michael Crichton novel, relishing escaping into the thrilling almost science fiction of some of his earlier works such as: Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Timeline, Sphere, and Congo.  However, this one left me a bit dizzy, trying to piece together the separate, unrelated view points into a cohesive plot line.  It tries to come [...]

I will admit that I’m a bit behind the times here.  This book was published in 1994 and is the first book in the Epic Fantasy series “Sword of Truth” and is now the source material of a new network Drama called The Legend Of The Seeker.  That said, having resumed my unmitigated hunger for [...]

Jennifer, I, and my future father in law went and began looking at Tuxedos for the first time today. We went to a small place in Peterborough called Imperial Styles.
One thing I liked about this place is that they actually have Tuxedos in stock that you can try on, where as places like Moore’s [...]

Just over 4 months to go until Jennifer and I’s wedding and we couldn’t be more excited.
We’re getting married at a nice little resort in Keene Ontario on December 6th called Elmhirst Resort.
We’re planning a weekend event with a BBQ and a wagon ride on the Friday, the wedding on Saturday and a brunch on [...]
